OAG to Celebrate Black History Month with Panel Featuring Previous DC Attorneys General & Corporation Counsel

Discussion to Focus on Office’s Road to Independence and DC Statehood

WHO/WHAT: Attorney General Karl A. Racine will join seven former Attorneys General/Corporation Counsel for the District of Columbia for a panel titled “Knowledge Is Power: The Road to the Election of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia—and Beyond.” The event is cosponsored by the Washington Bar Association and the University of the District of Columbia David A. Clarke School of Law. Panelists will discuss the role of the OAG (and its predecessor, the Office of the Corporation Counsel) from the Home Rule Charter through today, the office’s role in seeking autonomy and statehood, and other significant issues the office has dealt with in the past. The panel will be moderated by William R. (Billy) Martin, and the panelists are:
