About the Office of the Attorney General
for the District of Columbia
The Office of the Attorney General (OAG) is the chief legal office of the District of Columbia. The Office enforces the laws of the District, defends and provides legal advice to the District’s government agencies and protects the interests of the District’s citizens. OAG’s goal is to be the nation’s most effective and respected public law office.
