AG Racine Announces Four Fast Food Chains To End Use Of No-Poach Agreements

Racine today announced that, as a result of a settlement with 14 state attorneys general, Dunkin’, Arby’s, Five Guys, and Little Caesars will cease using “no-poach” agreements, which prevent fast food workers from moving from one franchise to another within the same restaurant chain.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Attorney General Karl A. Racine today announced that the Office of the Attorney General (OAG) has intervened in a lawsuit against a Maryland resident for fraudulently charging a local adult soccer league to rent D.C. Public Schools (DCPS) athletic fields and then pocketing the money. The suit alleges that, between 2009 and 2013, Larry Washington and two of his companies took more than $120,000 in rental payments from the Washington International Soccer League (WISL), failing to remit any of the money to DCPS.

Racine today announced the introduction of the Security Breach Protection Amendment Act of 2019, which would modernize the District’s data breach law and strengthen protections for residents’ personal information. WASHINGTON, D.C. – Attorney General Karl A. Racine today announced lawsuits against seven adults – including a former D.C. Public Schools (DCPS) employee and two current D.C. public charter school employees – for falsifying District residency to send their children to D.C. public schools for free. In these suits, the Office of the Attorney General (OAG) alleges that these individuals broke District law by sending their children to District schools without paying required out-of-state tuition.
