To recognize national Child Support Awareness Month in August, this month our office is rolling out a few special initiatives designed to give parents the tools they need to support their children:
Child Support Amnesty
Aug. 1 – Aug. 31
Visit our offices at 441 4th Street NW, Suite 550 North, from 8:45 a.m. - 3:45 p.m., Monday through Friday. For the whole month of August, parents who have fallen behind on their child-support payments can take advantage of OAG’s amnesty program to help them get back on track. If non-custodial parents make good-faith efforts to pay outstanding child support debt during this period, they may be eligible for certain benefits, including child support compliance letters that could help quash an arrest warrant or return a revoked license related to failure to pay. Participants are also eligible for dollar-for-dollar matching grants applied to any debt owed to the District under the TANF (Temporary Assistance to Needy Families) program.
Free Paternity Testing
