WASHINGTON, D. C. – Attorney General Karl A. Racine announced today that he has appointed experienced manager and education advocate Lisa Raymond as Chief of Staff for the Office of the Attorney General (OAG). Ms. Raymond will serve as a key advisor on AG Racine’s leadership team and will direct OAG’s external affairs work. This appointment is part of AG Racine’s continued efforts to recruit top administrative, legal, and policy talent to ensure OAG is a premier public interest law firm.
“Lisa has a proven track record of strategic management that achieves results,” said Attorney General Racine. "Her leadership will amplify our work to support vulnerable youth, protect consumers, preserve affordable housing, and promote the interest of the District and its residents.”
Ms. Raymond comes to OAG from the See Forever Foundation/Maya Angelou Schools where she served as Chief of Staff, directing strategic planning for the organization. Prior to the See Forever Foundation, Ms. Raymond served as Deputy Director for DC Action for Children, developing legislative initiatives to support District youth and advocating for these policies before District government officials. Ms. Raymond also has a strong background in public service, having worked as Senior Education Advisor to the D.C. Council and serving as President of the D.C. State Board of Education.
Ms. Raymond holds a B.A. from Indiana University and a M.P.A. from Columbia University. Ms. Raymond is a resident of Ward 6.
