OP-ED: Unequal justice under the law

The confirmation of Justice Amy Coney Barrett to the highest court in the land will likely cement the concerted efforts by conservative activists over the recent decades to appoint a Supreme Court that will move the federal judiciary from a home for justice into an institution where individual rights are subordinated to the interests of big business in the country.

While many Supreme Court watchers have focused on the cases that most directly threaten civil rights and health care, its less discussed matters on procedure and other functions are cutting back on rights and protections in insidious ways.
