WASHINGTON, D.C. – Attorney General Karl A. Racine today announced that the Cure the Streets violence reduction program will expand with four newly-selected program sites in Wards 1, 4, 5, 6, and 8. The Office of the Attorney General (OAG) is now accepting applications from community-based organizations interested in operating program sites in fiscal year 2022. 

Over the past several years, we’ve seen a drastic increase in ghost guns in the District. These are guns that are sold without background checks and lack identifying information, such as serial numbers, rendering them untraceable by law enforcement. The Metropolitan Police Department has recovered a steadily increasing number of ghost guns, from three in 2017 to 263 in 2020, a number that represents 13% of all guns recovered.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Attorney General Karl A. Racine today announced a new lawsuit in federal court against Albertsons Companies Inc. and The Kroger Co. (Albertsons and Kroger) and is seeking a temporary restraining order (TRO) to stop a nearly $4 billion payout to Albertsons’ shareholders—a payout 57 times greater than the historic dividends Albertsons has provided—until a full review of their proposed merger is complete.
