WASHINGTON, D.C. – Attorney General Karl A. Racine today announced that the Office of the Attorney General (OAG) secured a court order against a Ward 4 landlord—76 M Inc. and Peter Odagbodo—requiring the cleanup of toxic lead hazards at three residential buildings on Kansas Ave NE.

Racine today introduced the “Small and Certified Business Enterprise Protection and Enforcement Amendment Act of 2019,” which would increase penalties on non-District companies that cheat to gain preferential treatment in local government contracting and increase oversight of the District’s Certified Business Enterprise (CBE) program.

Racine today announced the introduction of the Security Breach Protection Amendment Act of 2019, which would modernize the District’s data breach law and strengthen protections for residents’ personal information. AG Racine has introduced this bill in response to major data breaches that have put tens of millions of consumers, and hundreds of thousands of District residents, at risk of identity theft and other types of fraud.

Racine announced that the Office of the Attorney General (OAG) and the owners of the Terrace Manor housing complex in Ward 8 have agreed to a court-monitored plan to ensure that tenants who remain in the complex can live in safe, habitable conditions in the near term and move into fully renovated apartments later this year.
