Racine today announced that Stadium Club owner Keith Forney has been found guilty of five counts of failure to file certain tax forms in a case related to Certified Business Enterprise (CBE) fraud. Office of the Attorney General (OAG) prosecutors alleged that Forney falsely claimed to live at addresses in the District of Columbia, one of which he actually used as a rental property. His use of the addresses afforded him unfair advantage over competitors in bidding for contracts with the District government.

Racine today alerted District residents and businesses to recent telephone calls by scam artists falsely claiming to be with Pepco and threatening to shut off electric service within hours unless the customer pays supposed past-due bills immediately. The Attorney General warned consumers who receive these calls to either ignore them if they do not, in fact, owe Pepco any money or to contact the utility directly before sending any payments.

Washington, DC – Michelle Suggs, a former Central Intelligence Agency employee, pled guilty today in DC Superior Court to two charges in connection with her ownership of rental property in the District, Attorney General Karl A. Ms. Suggs, of Upper Marlboro, Md., was sentenced by Judge John McCabe to 24 months of unsupervised probation and ordered to pay $4,509.80 to the District in restitution.
