WASHINGTON, D. C. – Attorney General Karl A. Racine announced today that lender CashCall Inc. will return payments of more than $1.8 million made by District consumers and will forgive more than $1 million in remaining debts to settle a lawsuit the Office of the Attorney General (OAG) filed last year. District consumers eligible for repayment under the settlement will receive an average of more than $1,300 each.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Attorney General Karl A. Racine announced today that he joined a coalition of 21 Attorneys General suing the Trump Administration to stop it from allowing 3D-printed gun files to be released on the internet. These files would allow anyone to 3D-print unregistered, untraceable firearms. These untraceable firearms, sometimes called “ghost guns,” can be very difficult to detect, even with metal detectors.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Attorney General Karl A. Racine announced the appointment of several individuals to leadership positions within the Office of the Attorney General (OAG). The senior leadership positions announced today are: Deputy Attorney General for the Civil Litigation Division, Deputy Attorney General for the Public Advocacy Division, and Chiefs for the Civil Rights Section and Elder Justice Section.

WASHINGTON, D. C. – Attorney General Karl A. Racine today filed a lawsuit seeking to force U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials to provide answers about recent ICE enforcement actions in the District. The lawsuit alleges ICE did not properly respond to AG Racine’s requests demanding information about ICE raids in predominantly Latino communities in the District this summer. The requests asked ICE to identify the individuals who were detained, give reasons for the detentions, and explain the agency’s immigration enforcement policies.

WASHINGTON, D. C. – Attorney General Karl A. Racine sent a letter to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Acting Director Ronald D. Vitiello demanding answers about local reports of a dozen District residents in predominantly Latino communities being taken into ICE custody. OAG’s letter asks ICE to identify the individuals who were detained, give reasons for the detentions, and explain the agency’s immigration enforcement policies.

WASHINGTON, DC – Attorney General Brian L. Schwalb today announced that Pro-Football Inc., the corporation which owns the Washington Commanders, will return over $200,000 to impacted residents and pay $425,000 to the District to resolve allegations that the team systematically failed to return ticket holders’ deposits and intentionally created barriers for fans to get refunds in violation of District law.
